Looney Tuned Exhaust, Love the power the noise gets old though. I have ran them with and without the quiet cores. I run them without because they kill the power. It amazed me at how much power I would lose with the quiet cores. It may not make that much difference in a motor with less mods.

UTV Offroad did a test a few mags back and the Bikeman exhaust won the test. There was some good info in that article.

I run the Looney Tuned exhaust also.

For most riding I run with the quiet cores and the spark arrestors in. Yes it seems to kill the power but for casual riding it is easy on the ears.

My main reason for the LTE was I wanted a stainless system as the stock looks like heck after only a few rides.

LTE spends a lot of time and certainly cut no corners in their manufacturing of this quality system.

Rich,
As you could probably have gathered from some of my previous posts,
I HAVE EXPERIMENTED with quite a few.
Two Bros. Slipon
FMF Powercore Slipon
FMF Performance HEADER
RZR "S" Header
Goerlich Muffler (Custom)
The Two. Bros. WILL produce gains, BUT like many have said, If it quite that you're looking for .... N O T
The FMF Powercore was pretty quite, I thought good sound, but you had to repack it.
FMF also has a Powerline, basicly the same as the Powercore, BUT no repacking.
HEADER wise both the FMF and the "S" will crank it out on the Low to Mid range, with the "S" probably being a little better performance as well as price.
If anyone doesn't have problems with a little FAB work, I really liked the Goerlich. Good sound,NO Repacking,Little Heavier than comparable mufflers AND it had an adjustable Baffle in the rear, so you could either Totally Adjust it either Fully OPEN or Fully Closed or anywhere in between.

NOW, with ALL the above said, I promised the BETTER HALF, NO MORE EXPERIMENTING or FABBING,SOOOOOOOOOOOO

High Performance Design (HPD,Darrell) ended up getting his
Trail Header,Midpipe & Muffler w/Billet tip. Great looking piece of work, totally thought thru in terms of design with Stepped runner pipes, excellent collector box as well as as a QUIET,yet good sounding Stainless Steel Muffler. Fit & Finish were unmatched as compared to some. Nickel plated pipes will LIKE MOST turn a bluish to purple color, BUT this winter, I plan on sending them to Nitro Plate, for a Ceramic Inside/Outside job, with EXTREME CHROME plating.
The DESIGN & Engineering of the ENTIRE package gives Good Torque across all bands, BUT particularly in the Low/Mid Range.
SO I'LL VOTE FOR HPD

Bart thanks for the information, I too will be looking for a new pipe and muffler. I use mine for trail riding and don't really want the noise for the long days. You said that come winter you were going to have everything coated, is that for looks?, performance?, or durability?

Well Mike,

Partially for LOOKS, since the NitroPlate doesn't color (NORMALLY), BUT
the BIGGEST P L U S is the reduction in External Skin Temps. Have used JetHot in the past, but happened to find this company in my own backyard, NASHVILLE, TN. WWW.NITROPLATE.COM
Did a little research, phone called them AND will become one of their
BEST Customers.

One really Good thing is their warranty, 3 yrs NO RUST or they will redo it for FREE.
Price wasn't bad either
Header(coated INSIDE and out) $135
Muffler (you decide if you want this) $50
Additional Exhaust Tubing $16/ft

Heck, sounds like a get a commission doesn't it  NOT, anyway you could check them out on the website or give 'em a call. Really FRIENDLY folks (JUST LIKE ALL "US" GOOD OL' COUNTRY BOYS ARE  )

Bart

Almost forgot, next couple of days or this coming weekend, going to start the CLUTCHING thread. Just for your info..

Thanks Bart, Nashville isn't that far away for me, there's nothing much on the other end of the state that I can find. I have been reading some of your info about the clutches, sounds like good info..
