Here are some pics from my first attempt at this. It turned out well, but later versions with slightly different ingredients were better...... 8)

2 lb. thick sliced bacon
2 lb. italian sausage
barbecue sauce
powder rub

Start with the bacon weave..


Rub on the weave...


Next is the rolled out sausage...


Add some pan fried bacon(crumbled)...


Some BBQ sauce...


Roll up the sausage...


Roll the weave completely around the sausage...


Here is the rub and BBQ that I used...


After 2 1/2 hours @ 225 degree`s, and basted with more BBQ sauce...



Guaranteed to clog arteries, but we all gotta go sometime..... :lol:

BTW, this is good with pepper jack cheese and jalapeno peppers too.... :)

Now were talking....I have seen similar recipes on some Big Green Egg websites....Nothing like a recipe to keep your arteries in check every now and again :)

Those are tasty, I smoked two a couple of weeks ago. One I left plain like yours than the other I diced jalapeno peppers and onion. Everyone like the one with the peppers and onion better.
