Make Your Own A/F Sensor Bung

This has been used for years as an alternative to purchasing the Expensive Stainless Steel Bungs.

USE a Spark Plug Non-Fouler 18mm (item available at most auto parts stores

OK, you're asking WHAT's THAT :rofl3:

It's a little plug that is into the sparkplug hole. It has a small hole in the bottom which allow the Gas Vapors to enter into it, but keeps the oil out. When the spark plug fires, the gas vapor is ignited and the engine works.
The major purpose is preventing oil from splashing onto the plug and FOULING it out.

Heres a picture of the package, You get 2, yes that's right 2 for about $5

Heres a picture of the Non-Fouler

Make your cut with the hacksaw above the thread portion & as close to the next section of the Non-Fouler that you can. Use a file to smooth the bottom, since it will protrude into the exhaust.

Now you've got to do a little bit of work to use it.

Simply take the hack saw and cut the Threaded portion off & discard.
Next you will need to drill out the bottom of the remainder, where the Small hole is/was. Place the Non-Fouler in a vise and use a 1/2" drill to make the opening larger. The reason for doing this, is when you screw the A/F sensor into the NEW BUNG, the tip of the sensor must go through the bottom.

Now you already know the rest of the procedure, drill hole in exhaust tubing or header, weld the NEW BUNG in place. You're now good to go.:ride:

Mike,
Are you talking about the one that Dale has been running out in Glamis?
If so, NO, apparently he has had quite a few testers trying it out. Guess this time around I may just sit this one out. 8)

I didn't know I just thought you had your RZR tore apart in another thread working on the clutch. That where I got about an upgraded clutch.

Yep, still is apart. Darrell removed some material on the spider(undercut) directly below the flyweight tips, so the flyweights would tuck under. I AM MORE THAN HAPPY, but the change affected the engagment and shiftout so I'm playing with Primary Springs right now. Raised my engagment from around 1600RPM to about 2200-2300RPM. TOTALLY NEW ballgame.
