Thought I'd make a comment on this article that appears in the June/July issue starting on page 70 ...............

After reading this article I'm irritated enough to make these comments ......

1st off -- I'm retired - Have a RzR - Run the sand - And am interested in an engine swap or a Turbo system.

You've written a review of a Turbo system (Done this past Winter) in a foreign country. There is not one US dealer that has any information on their web sites to date. It's now -- June.

There is no price information. Personally - I would only buy from a US located business. This eliminates Customs - Exchange rates - Shipping, etc.

No warranty information.

No way to view an installation manual to educate an interested individual and verify an average individual could install.

There is at least one design flaw that I see - I'm certinally not interested in dealing with a foreign company to resolve.

While overall I like the engineering that has gone into this -- I'm turned off by NO availability in the US.

So -- Why do this article as it is NOT available to us here in the States ??

Please don't make the comment that information is coming.

Case in point -- A year ago Thunderhawk made a post that they were coming out with a Turbo system for the RzR. To date -- Nothing.

Some of us don't have the luxury of a long life ahead of us.

Having recently subscribed -- I see no reason to renew when the time comes -- As this article has inflamed me. I'm interested and it's unobtainable.

Dave,
On page 73 is the ad and contact information for Trey of MCXUSA. He is a USA based company and had the turbo designed in Sweden. Also on Page 74 at the top is his info. Give him a call and he will be glad to help you. We have his Turbo on our Project Rhino and saw the RZR run at the UTV Rally in Moab. Sorry for any confusion.

Hey Dave, I can understand your concerns, so I'll address them here to help ya out. I was in Sweden in April '08, our summer, their winter. The exclusive distributor is MCX-USA, which is the new name for OHV Turbos. All their contact information was in the article and the ad next to their article, as well.

There is no price information. Personally - I would only buy from a US located business. This eliminates Customs - Exchange rates - Shipping, etc.
You will only be able to buy this turbo kit from MCX-USA, which is a US based company. As far as pricing, call or email Trey Lokey at MCX-USA and he will tell you the pricing. We would have liked to include it in the article, but they didn't have it all compiled at time of print.
No warranty information.
Good question...definitely something I'd ask Trey.
No way to view an installation manual to educate an interested individual and verify an average individual could install.
A full installation manual will be included with their kit, and our article was about as close to an installation manual as we could post without giving an average do-it-yourselfer the exact method of creating the kit. You have to understand that there's folks out there that believe they can do anything a large company can with the right information. :)
There is at least one design flaw that I see - I'm certinally not interested in dealing with a foreign company to resolve.
What is it? You won't be dealing with a foreign company. It's a US company selling the kits, which are manufacturered in Sweden at the most successful snowmobile turbo company there is. They know what they're doing, trust me.
While overall I like the engineering that has gone into this -- I'm turned off by NO availability in the US.
That's quite an assumption you're making without contacting the company, don't you think?

See above! :)

Dave, in the future, it would be best if you spent the time to actually read the article, then contact the company that's listed in both the article and the ad next to the article before making a post like this in public. We strive hard to include all necessary information for our readers, so they can make an educated decision on a product, and in this case we did this for this article, as well. I'm sorry if it may have come across differently, but a simple phone call to Trey Lokey of MCX-USA would have prevented this entirely. Fair enough?

MCX RZR kit

OLDphoneman,
Please contact me in regards to this kit. My name is Trey and I am the distributor for the kits in the USA. As you have the magazine, you have my contact information.
I believe ravencr replied adequately to most of your concerns.
Here are a few very simple replies to your comments:
The kits are available in the US - and have been for about a month (prior to the article coming out)
The price is $4495.00
There is a one (1) year warranty on the parts in the kit.
Any other questions, comments, or design flaw concerns that you would like to discuss, I would be more than happy to talk to you about.
Regards,
Trey Lokey

Quite a response to my thoughts as I am the author of this thread.

I stand behind behind all statements I've made and will offer little in rebuttal - Simply put .. The readers can formulate their own opinion.

Don --

I appreciate your courtious/business like response.

Chris --

With you'r response -- It's best I make no further comment as it would serve no purpose.

I'll also not be making any further comments on this thread - After I've addressed Trey.

Trey --

In researching your system on the Web -- With the exception of finding one picture - There is not any information available. Either from your site or any of your dealers.

Also - In viewing your dealer network .. There isn't a dealer on the West Coast.

Although -- While reading Arizona's White Sheet I did find a dealer in Havasu that sells this kit. Being I also have a place there and Winter there -- I'll stop by later this year and talk to the folks at that shop.

Yes -- I do have several questions regarding your kit.

As to calling to discuss -- I will do so if I decide this is the system I prefer over other options available to augment the power of the RzR.

Thanks for your responses.

Dave, did you go with the MCX kit? I have ridden with many MCX snowmobiles that have several miles /seasons with out issues. Since MCX builds a great kit (IMHO); the RZR kits should be reliable too.

I was going to turbo or supercharge the RZR (depending on who got a reliable kit out first) so I could whoop my buddy on his Kawi Brute Force 750 and it would have been mine/wife's, but the wife wanted me to keep it stock. I gave in to her and took the money for I hade saved for the turbo or supercharger kit and bout my self an Outlaw 525 quad to ride.
