Does it invalidate the results for the testers to attempt to optimize the Rzr to each silencer? I don't think so but it does add variables to the test and invite questions of whether a product did well because it's better or because the machine prep was better. I think if you're going to do a "scientific" shootout like this you need to use ALL the tools available--including A/F monitoring and dyno runs. It's not very scientific to only measure 0-45mph ETs as the single test criteria.
