go-pro video cam

I have had this video camera for a few months now and I really like it. it can be mounted almost any where useing the bar clamp mounts, suction cup, or adhesive mounts.

it has a set of cables that can be hooked to a tv or computer, can be mounted almost anywhere, waterproof case, 56mins of video with a 2gb card, 2 hours of vid with lithium or nimh batterys, 5 megapixel still photos, can shoot stills every 2 seconds.

I have used a 16gb card and it will fill that up, I still havent got the hang of how to change the sound level. the only thing I dont really like is the wide screen view but its not that bad.

The plastic case it comes with is water tight and can be submerged in water. This is where I have it mounted for now

I use a Canon Digital full bodied SLR ( Rebel ). I have a Canon Ultrasonic 72 mm / 18-200 lens with a skylight filter that I use 90% of the time. I also have a 58mm / 18-55 lens with a skylight filter to go with the package also. I have added a eye piece extender to the camera body and an external flash is available, when needed. I use a monopod in some of the photography that I do also. I have shot thousands of pics thru this camera with not a problem, a VERY reliable and rugged camera !! I'm now very intereted in checking out the Vid Cam ( go-pro video cam ) that bige ( Eric ) has mentioned above.

go-pro video cam ...
Do you have the high def or the standard? I have the standard def one and it takes some practice getting use to using it. Now I have get some good shots with it considering the wide screen.

I usually use the setting that allows you to take 3 shots in a burst so to speak.

I have an helmet mount which I use when riding my quad. I am installing a roll bar mount before our next trip out to the dunes so I can get some shots from the Ranger.
Glenn, Post your work when you get back - I'm anxious to see how they turn out !! :D
not sure, it has a tv resolution of 30fps
waterproof to 10ft and shockproof HD camera. sanyo xacti

Nice .45 in the background as well. I refer to mine as my visa card as I seldom leave home with out it! :D

thanks, i never leave home without it. :D
Nikon D50 Digital SLR, several years old now as it was bought when they first came out. Also have a Canon Elph pocket point and shoot digital camera.

I love the Nikon for taking action shots. I can just put this on rapid shoot mode, and hold the shutter button down. It shoots a whole bunch of frames per second. You can catch some great action shots. I may take 40 or 50 pics, and get 5 that are great, but that is the beauty of the digital age.
I get my best video from my digital camcorder but it's fragile and bumps & vibration causes drop-outs.
So I got a 'helmet cam' and hard-drive portable DVR from Archos (AV500--now discontinued). Its 30GB drive will hold hours of VGA-quality video.

Easiest to use and also waterproof is my Pentax Optio waterproof camera. Shoots good 30fps video and I never have to worry about dirt, mud, water or vibration. Since I usually have this camera along I just use it for video, too. Nice to not have to worry about getting it dirty or wet.
Just not as handy to mount as the little Archos helmet cam.

I want one of those Oregon Scientific flashdrive helmet cams. Sam's Club had a great deal on a kit with cam, several mounts and a 2GB card for $99 but by the time I scraped the cash together it was gone :x

Sorry for the delay, this link will take you to some shots with my grandsons at Glamis in the smaller dunes with the helmet cam. The lens is almost a fisheye type.

I mounted to the Ranger this weekend and did a test drive around the neighborhood using it in video mode. It worked fine I hope to have some more videos and pictures after our trip President's Day.

Here is a video that I took with my boys GoPro Hero wide camera. It is the next morning after the big Feb. Snow. Once you click on the link, click on my boys account MTPRATT32 to see the rest of his GoPro Videos. You can see how the camera does.

After having the wide angle, which is useful at times I think that I'm going to buy the regular version in HD Quality.

Ok Glenn, let's see your vids from Presidents day weekend. You can change the setting on the camera from the fish eye to wide angle. It is an easy setting change and will work wheather taking stills or videos.
