Mike, I wish that I had thought of the bears. I just couldn't come up with a good reason for 3 people on the pot at the same time.

A two holer was the most I ever seen as a kid myself.

We had the two holer at the hunting camp....by all means, it was certainly not "Shared" simultaneously. However, when enough guys used Hole # 1, it began to pile up a bit close to the rim....then it was time to move to Hole 2. :shock:

Needless to say the same outhouse was likely in use for 20 + years :shock: :roll:

I think back when those things were the norm, spooky nights might have meant some kids traveled to the throne together.

Norm, they are still pretty common around here, you can even go to the Health Department and get requirements to build a new outhouse. Lots of places around here that either choose not to have running water and sewer, while others have their houses sitting on solid rock and no place to put a sewer system.

Around here you can turn down a road and go back 50 years in a flash. Down to the mule powered wagons and people with their own personal moonshine still.
