Did anyone remove the thread entitled "Food for thought" that was started by Makin' Trax? If so, PLEASE just move it here next time so we all can see what is going on.

It was me. Sorry. I moved it and in the process I left a "shadow" I think it was called. Anyway, I didn't see any reason why everyone should see some of the comments that were said and tried to go back and delete it, but I didn't know it would delete it entirely from the site even after I moved it. First time I've moved anything on this new site and got a little confused.

Thanks Chris. Now, what the heck is a shadow? You got a new one on me!!

The shadow just says we moved the topic and links the person that clicks on it to the new location. When we move it to the mod section they are not able to view it, they just know it was moved. We can still see it because we have access to the mod section.

See, you have done used something I haven't yet on the new site. I went and made a test post and moved it and saw what you are talking about. You have the option to unselect the shadow box but the reason the post got deleted is it goes to the post when you click on it to edit. But, in this case, it wouldn't matter since it was in the mod section, they couldn't have seen it. Very interesting, honest mistake though. Thanks Chris for helping us understand what happened and thanks Curt for turning on the light so I could "see" the shadow!!

So has someone contacted him about it? I sent him an email the other other after reading his posting just asking if he had a beef with someone,

Here's my email,

Is there some kind of beef with you and someone else. I'm lost with your latest post and so are a few others?

Thanks, Brian

Here's his original reply,

No, not at all. I probably drank too much coffee and rambled. Maybe a little too long. I began typing just pointing out that things haven't changed over the years. That there is a formula to dollars and performance. Then, as long as I was typing about aftermarket products, I just wanted to remind the guy's that whine about the prices and grind and sweat the small fabricators and suppliers for every last percent of dicount they can get, that some of these guys are hurting. The profit % left after product costs and costs of doing business is so small they can't survive without other sources of income. I was discussing this with a friend that builds complete custom UTV builds as well as fabricates cages and bumpers, he told me that it costs him $7.00 per thousand dollars of liability coverage. Last year they paid $25,000 in liability coverage alone. I thought I was pretty clear with my points. I posted that same thread on two other popular forums I spend time on, nobody thought I had a beef. Maybe it hit close to home for some people.

I do have to say that Gamalot has a right to his opinion, but to blast me for something I did not post, It is him you should be asking if he has a problem with me. I have read numerous posts of his and seems to get away with being a bit of a bully. I have always tried to be polite to everyone, but I won't take his out of the blue crap. If it means I don't participate on the PRC, well then so be it. I see many posts on subjects that don't interest or effect me, I just move on. I'll say it again, ask him what his problem is. Call me if you would like to discuss this any further.

And then I jump on here to find that he sent me another email. Get a load of this one! All I did was ask him a simple question and I guess must think I deleted his post so he's saying the heck with it sounds like to me. I sent him a reply clearly stating that all I did was aski him a simple question and if thats enough to make him enough to pack up then so be it!!

Here's his last email,

Brian,

Are you going to tell me that the thread was removed due to what? I guess ther is only one word for this ADIOS!

Needless to say it kinda peed me off! If he's got a problem then he needs to address them before going off the deep end, JMO.

It sounds like he has a chip on his shoulder. Everyone is struggling right now and I would guess that is getting to him. He is right about Gamalot, but that is for us to deal with, he shouldn't worry about it.

Damn I take a little time off and miss all the action. Guys posting self advertising and a good guy getting pissed off and saying adios. What the hell, I'll call him this afternoon and see what the deal is for sure. Steve really is a good guy, He has taken a ton of time to make sure all of the people he deals with are happy and will do whatever they need when asked. He is the kind of guy that I would love to see as a sponsor, but I know he is trying to get on his feet with this business and maybe he's having some start-up pains IDK. I'll let you guys know what he says later tonight. Oh yeah, Gamalot is ALWAYS a pain in the ass.

Mike,

I can't really make heads or tails out of some of this. The last I read, Gamalot had the last post. I don't know if there was anything else said or not. I saw nothing at that point that should have caused it to be moved. Maybe more was added. I do agree that it was close and an e-mail to both would have been sufficient. I have not kept up with the RZR crew, too busy, but it sure does seem like Steve is a great guy and has helped a bunch of folks and helped set up their shocks and even delivered them. I agree, Gamalot is always a smartass. I see no reason to be pissed at Steve. But, Mike, see if you can relay to Steve that this was an honest mistake related to the new software. Even though Steve is not a sponsor, he has a lot of knowledge that could prove valuable.

Sounds good. I left him a message and hopefully he will call me back. Chris hasn't called me back and I would like to talk to him before Steve calls. I did talk to freddy this morning and got a little info from him though.

Chris, call me man.

Guys I feel terrible about this. Steve has really been a wealth of knowledge on here and I agree with Mike, he would be a great sponsor. If he's having a little difficult time right now I hate that for him, but maybe he will come around when he finds out it was an honest mistake. And I don't know if anyone knows this or not, but Gamalot actually asked "a moderator" to either delete the post or move it, I can't remember which one, but he did ask, that's why I moved it or attempted such.

Mike and Chris,

Thanks for sticking with this and trying to make amends. Yes, Steve has been a great source of information. I hope all will be ok. Chris, don't fret it. We know it was an honest mistake, stuff happens and this software is new. The only thing I would caution all the mods about here is this, folks ask mods to move or delete stuff all the time. Sometimes it is obvious but sometimes, as in this case, it is a way of conveying more clout on themselves than they rightfully have. In this case, it was neither Gamalot's place nor business to ask this because it wasn't his thread. I saw that and didn't do anything precisely because he asked. Call me stubborn but I don't take those prods very well!! LOL!! Anyway, it is done and there is no need to fret over it. We all have dumped stuff by accident in the past. If you guys can talk with Steve, great, if not then it is his loss.

I just talked to Steve and all is cool. I think that there were a few things that he may have not taken the right way but all is good now. He felt like Gamalot had tried to slam his explanation about cost for speed and that one of the mods had maybe taken it the wrong way when he tried to defend himself. From what he had stated he did not feel his response to Gamalot was out of line and that he, Gamalot, had jumped the thread to begin with. Steve is cool after an explanation that the thread was deleted on acident and that it was only being moved, in the first place, for review of the comments made. I also think that between freddy talking to him and my conversation tonight that he may be donating something around the lines of a 20 percent discount coupon to the rally. We'll see how this works out. he will be in contact with freddy about it. Like I stated before, I still think Steve is a great guy and there for anybody who wants or has his product, or just simply needs a good explanation of how shocks work and why. His shock knowledge is great and I appreciate his un-biased participation on this site.

Great job Mike. That is a mark of a truly honorable man, if he doesn't hold grudges. Thanks for the help. Honest mistakes can and will happen.
